Being a military family comes with it's challenges. We are separated from our significant others for months on end, sacrificing deep roots, moved away from family, and so much more. What being a military family teaches you is resilience. It teaches you to find friends at each duty station that become your "found family". It teaches you that no matter the distance, you will prevail. It teaches you that all your sacrifices are not for nothing.

My husband joined the army in 2013. He has proudly served in Fort Drum, NY - Fredericksburg, VA - and currently Fort Stewart, GA. We have been separated more time than we have spent together (or so it feels). We have gone through 2 deployments, one of which was a combat zone and our daughter has learned to put on her brave face because Daddy has to go do "army stuff" and that sometimes he has to be gone for a long time.
